The existing buildings on the site at 29 Pleasant Boulevard were demolished earlier this year to make way for the Notable, a 51-storey high rise by Graywood Developments.
In a virtual neighbourhood meeting in February, the developer explained their proposed construction schedule. There will be 6 construction phases, and the project is expected to take 41 months to complete. Stage 1, which involved demolition, took 2 months and is now complete. They further advised that they would launch a website to inform residents of significant construction milestones and events as well as changing construction phases. There will also be a 24-hour hotline number posted at the site.
The south sidewalk will be open for most of the construction phases and construction vehicles will avoid using Yonge Street and use Avoca to access the site. The walkway between Pleasant Boulevard and Rosehill Avenue will remain open during the entire construction phase but will be narrowed to allow part of the walkway to be used for construction staging. The DPRG asked if it would be possible to cover the walkway for pedestrian safety and was told by the developer that they would take that under consideration.
The developer was expecting to break ground in March, but construction has been delayed while the City reviews the construction staging plan.
