Members of the Deer Park Residents Group voted at the June 11, 2025 Annual Meeting to extend the boundaries of the DPRG to include Foxbar Road.
The plan for two buildings at 38 and 43 storeys at the southeastern foot of Lawton Blvd (at Lonsdale) has alarmed many in the neighbourhood for its scale and density on a narrow street with low rise buildings and single-family dwellings.
On a steamy June 23, some heat tolerant members of our community had the opportunity to be briefed on Crime Prevention and Safety by members of our local Division 53 and the head of Neighbourhood Watch.
Remarkably, City Planning gave this enormous building a positive planning report and the application was recently approved by the Toronto East York Community Council. The DPRG Board continues to advocate for a comprehensive traffic and transportation study of the Yonge and St Clair area.
We have now received from the City the various traffic studies that have been completed as part of the many individual development applications in the area over recent years.
The 2024 survey was circulated to 474 residents of Deer Park, both members and non-members and was open from May 10 – May 27, 2024. We received 230 responses.
