DPRG boundary change

Members of the Deer Park Residents Group voted at the June 11, 2025 Annual Meeting to extend the boundaries of the DPRG to include Foxbar Road.

53-89 Lawton Blvd. update

The plan for two buildings at 38 and 43 storeys at the southeastern foot of Lawton Blvd (at Lonsdale) has alarmed many in the neighbourhood for its scale and density on a narrow street with low rise buildings and single-family dwellings.

Crime Prevention Talk

On a steamy June 23, some heat tolerant members of our community had the opportunity to be briefed on Crime Prevention and Safety by members of our local Division 53 and the head of Neighbourhood Watch.

A 35-storey tower approved for 1220 Yonge (Yonge at Alcorn)

Remarkably, City Planning gave this enormous building a positive planning report and the application was recently approved by the Toronto East York Community Council. It is on a small site, located on this narrow, residential cul-de-sac. The building is now 60% taller than the earlier 22 storey application, at 35 floors.

The recently received application for a massive double tower project is unacceptable. The scale and density are greatly excessive. Lawton is a narrow residential street that cannot accommodate this scale of traffic and influx of residents.

Like residents across the City, we continue to strongly object to Provincial legislation that does not permit municipalities to establish appropriate planning policies and regulations to ensure appropriate development.
