|The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is held annually on the third Sunday of November. |
In Toronto, Friends and Families for Safe Streets marks the day with a candle-lit walk along a dangerous street that could be made much safer.
This year Avenue Road has been chosen for the walk, in recognition its dangers and the efforts of the Avenue Road Safety Coalition to make it safe.
– Meet on Sunday November 21st at 4:45 pm in Ramsden Park, opposite the Rosedale Subway Station
– or, join the walk at the west end of Ramsden Park at 5:00 pm as it heads down Avenue Road
– Please bring a battery-powered candle if you have one.
Friends and Families for Safe Streets is a Toronto support and advocacy group made up of people who have lost loved ones in road crashes or have been severely injured themselves. Its goal is for Toronto to be free from deaths and serious injuries caused by traffic collisions.
We hope you will join us to support those affected and to show the community’s desire to make AVENUE ROAD safe for everyone.
